“Multi instrumentalist Ivo Neame is fast becoming one of the rising stars of British jazz." JAZZ MANN
Ivo Neame, the latest to arrive in Kairos 4tet's ranks, studied saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music but has since mainly been found in the piano chair, performing and recording with many well-known artists in the UK and abroad including the Cinematic Orchestra, Phronesis, Julian Siegel, Gilad Atzmon, Stan Sulzmann, Matthew Herbert, Mark Lockheart and Guy Barker. He is also a member of the Loop Collective - a community of London-based improvising musicians. His own Quartet released their first CD Caught In The Light Of Day in 2009 on Edition Records. His playing is distinguished by a fine balance of Jarrett-esque romantic lyricism, technical finesse and a seemingly effortless ability to expand song forms both rhythmically and harmonically. A dynamic force as an accompanist, soloist or as one quarter of the Kairos 4tet’s collective creativity Neame is a vital ingredient in this group’s vibrant live performances, and as Adam says:
“Ivo really brings the best out of everyone else.”
